Lubricant for Sway bar?

Default Lubricant for Sway bar?

Guys,

I am about to intsall the hotchkiss sways for a friend. It is used. What kind of lubricant should I get from the Auto store. I don't mean the other kind of lubricant The lubricant that came with the sway when you bought it new.

Use thick silicone, such as sil-glyde.

Yep any silicone lube will do. Just make sure it isn't mineral based - that will eat into and deteriorate your bushings. Prothane also makes a silicone lube, I think I bought some tubes of it from summitracing.com a while back...

Go here: http://store.summitracing.com/ and search for PTP-19-1750. Its a 3 tube kit - each tube is about enough for one sway. You might want to consider ordering 2 kits if you plan on doing your sways somewhat frequently.

If the busings in the kit are urethane you need to use a specific moly-lube for urethane bushings only , this can be purchased from your local speed shop, we use it a lot in the off-road industry, it's made by energy suspension, daystar and prothane.

I thought the hotchkis kit came with lubricant?

The energy suspension lube is just a teflon based lube which can also be purchased anywhere.
