Default springs for 06

I am getting the itch to lower my car. This will be the first car I have ever lowered, so I am hesitant to go very low. Also, since this is my first time I do not want to go all out, something cheap - I can always upgrade in the future.

After doing some research I have found the following possibilities:

1. Tein Basic Coilovers $800
pros: adjustable to around 25mm
cons: more than I want to spend.

2. Hotchkis Springs $150
pros: 15mm front and 19mm rear. Linear spring
cons: spring rates are very low compared to the 2006 stock (314/427). I have been told that this spring was designed with the OEM in mind, but that would only be true for 03-04.

3. RS*R $220
pros: springs rates are very close to stock 345/417 – transfers stiffness to the front (not sure if this is good or not). Linear spring
cons: 15mm front and rear – I would really like to get as close to 25mm as possible and still be in factory alignment specs (20mm would be good)

Is there a spring out there that offers a 20mm drop front and rear with similar rates to the 06 stock? I have not been able to find one. I think based on my requirements the Nismo S-Tune suspension is the best fit, but I can’t justify spending $1400 on suspension due to the other modifications I want to do – wheels, mrev, and exhaust.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments for direction/decision would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You may check Tein S-Tech. Many people like it.

Hotchkis are definitely best bang for your buck spring-wise...

The rates are very much acceptable. The drop is minimal. Any less drop (tein h-tech spring) and you won't even know the difference.
