Default HKS LS+ coilovers installed...Props to protocav!!

SO after much debate and some back and forth I finally was convinced to spend the cash and go coilover. I had planned to run Hotchkis springs and Tokico D-Specs. I had ridden on that setup before and felt it was exactly what I wanted. Well sorry to say that the HKS setup I ended up with courtesy of protocav FAR exceeds what I felt with the H/T setup. In terms of everything from ride quality to handling, just everything about the HKS setup is better. I'm convinced enough that I will never get a suspension setup aside from coilovers on any future car. I had B&G springs and stock shocks on before and the car looked good but I found myself on bumpstops more then I cared to be. I'll update this thread with pics tonight when I get home. I ended up raising my car a little to clear some speed bumps at the new pad but the ride is just FANTASTIC with these things...Thanks again to protocav for the advice and install. If you live in Socal and haven't hit him up for parts insall I would HIGHLY recommend him. http://members.***.net/chadisrad

Doug we'll have to compare rides after you install yours. The Megans were very attractive to me but after some of the stuff I saw happen to their exhaust parts in the B15 world I was wary of them. I know the 240 guys like them though. But for the same price I decided to go with something proven...

I like to be different. I like to give the lower end guys a chance. the way i look at things is test it and if i dont like it sell it no biggie to me. I just put on the PIT apexi n1 nock off on and its phenomanol Great piece for 250.00 bucks and no overboosting issues. Sounds mean as sin but im gonna get the megan this week also and sell the PIT. btw sold my Vertex lip kit gotta get me nismo sides and rear OEM urthane

Gotta say, the two coilover's are not even in the same ball park. It's not about how much you spend and it's not even about specs, but all about how well the R&D is done. You'll find that the Megan's are underdampned and over sprung with little thought given to isolation (just a little effort in that regard would have paid off with zero cost to performance, be prepaired for tar strips). We can harp at the big names and what they charge, maybe even snicker a bit, fact is actual driving R&D beats cheap computer R&D day in and day out.
