On the back roads, if I play around a bit, my brakes start to fade like crazy. This is what I want to avoid with a BBK. The looks is definitely an added bonus. Besides, my setup as is, is a like a bodybuilder that doesn't work his legs. Kind of 'need' a BBK to finish the package

FWIW, my Brembo GT setup is awesome. Been beating the living $#!T out of it for over 15K miles and still have about half the pad left and they look great.

I would love a brembo GT setup, but unfortunately, they are at least a $500 premium to the others

Since you said you wanted the look of a BBK, there isn't much point trying to convince you you don't need it.

Have you at least upgraded the pads? That might solve your fading issue.

I didn't need a TT setup, nor a built motor, nor a set of springs, or wheels, window tint, or leather seats, or gauges.

As far as I know this color has been discontinued for some time now.

You still didn't define "burned out" or "went out". Did the brakes just fade or was it a catastrophic brake failure? Exactly what fluid and pad was he running?

These questions would be better answered by Eagle1 himself as he was the one driving. I am not sure of his pads, but I do know he was running ATE Super Blue fluid. When VRT took his car back to inspect the brakes, they reported that the pads were fine. I did see, however that the calipers were discolored, which is a sign of overheating. I don't know exactily what they concluded happened as it was not my car, but I do know that the pedal went to the floor and he went off the track. Once cooled down he made it one or two more laps before the pedal was to the floor again. Sounds to me like a classic case of overheating. If you are that interested send Eagle1 or mraturbo a PM, they should be able to go more into depth about what happened.

P.S. - I personally love Stoptech and think their customer service and support is awesome as well as thier product, I just think Eagle1's heavy car, massive power, and break heavy track was the right combo to push them beyond their limit.

Sounds like a classic case of boiled fluid. Some Ti plates would help to reduce or eliminate that along with better fluid like Motul RBF600 or Castrol SRF.

As far as the caliper discoloration, that is just part of the game with any caliper paint. The colors will definitely get darker at track temperatures which is why we recommend black painted calipers for cars that are heavily tracked. Its not just us with the paint issue either...ask the track model and STi guys what their gold OEM pers look like after heavy track use.

The evo guys have a nick name for their stock calipers that changed colors. It has the word brown in it.

After a lot of research, phone calls, deliberation, etc, I have decided on a 14" 4 pot brembo GT front with OEM brembo rears.

Thanks everyone for you input. I will let you all know when I get them

I researched on that at one point. Most motorycle shops will be able to help you out. The caliper will likely have to be taken apart. Powdercoating them in red and stenciling the brembo logo in white will probably run you about 200-250$.

So, what made you chose the Brembos?

BTW, crossdrilled or slotted?
