Default tokico extensions review = they suck! cheap!

well, i bought them and tried to install them.

had trouble buying them, see https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-suspension/181250-tokico-extensions-where-to-buy-them-online-2.html.

had trouble installing them. It was a straight forward install. Enlarge hole, remove rear tire, unbolt strut, compress strut, slide extension into hole then screw onto strut and bolt everything back up.

Well that was the easy part. Then, i wanted to try and adjust the shock. Well the extensions turn and turn and turn but never stop like the keychain adjuster does. So who knows how far you went.

I like to adjust my shocks based on a common starting point, being full firm(keychain adjust locks up) and doing x number of turns back. Well the extensions dont allow that. So youll have to remember how many turns youve done, which is a pita. And who knows, you may over tighten it and cause it to be too firm.

The cheapness of the damn things: one broke, i mean seriosly, its such a simple thing. How hard is it to make quality parts. The part that broke is the piece that screws onto the shock, it came unclamped from the braid and i now have a 2 piece extension. This pissed me off, i already thought 30 bucks was overpriced, but now its way overpriced for a cheap piece of junk.

worst 30 bucks i ever spent, heres to hoping i can fix this thing and modify it to work properly........

until someone says otherwise, i will not advise the purchase of these....

Maybe you could fab up your own? If you cannot fix it and want to send it to me I will try and fab up a better system from those. I have ideas on it, but don't really want to repeat the headache you went through to get them and everything. Let me know man

you have that sort of equipment?

i just dont think there worth it. whoever made the extension did not do their homework. I thought i was getting a piece that would mimic the keychain one but extended, it wouldnt be hard to do. They should have just made it male at one and female and threaded at the other, that way you would still use the keychain adjuster. I dont like the idea of being able to over adjust the shock.

for what I have in mind I have the equipment to get it mocked up, once I got a prototype completed I could manufacture them. The design would be rather simple (at least I am assuming), but much easier to use. I have no idea what type of cost it would be until I see what the materials would cost me.
