stoptech stage 1 vs stage 2
im considering trying to improve my bakes a little without breaking the bank on a bbk. I was wondering if it is worth getting the stoptech stage 2 kit over stage 1. is there a noticable difference performancewise between the 2? My z is a daily driver and i dont track or anything. right now my pedal feels a little mushy and i get some vibration up through the pedal.
all help is appreciated
thanks

i have the stage 2 and highly recommend it. i got the slotted rotor version.
the kit used to come with hawks hps pads but i think stoptech switched over to axxis ultimates( at least thats what i was sent). either pad is good its just the axxis are cheaper. the SS lines were great too. the kit gave me initial better bite and less fade autoxing. not to mention the slotted rotors look good.
i think it retails for 649 but you can get it cheaper. i got mine for 575
avalon racing sells it for $599

and whenever mynismo.com goes back online they have it to. iforgot what their price was

Slotted rotor tend to wear the pads faster creating more dust and do little to out gas protect, since modern pads don't out gas any longer after the bed in process..............as with drilled, slotted is more for the look of performance not the actual measured performance.

Not true actually. Slotted rotors add bite to the system and keep the pad face from glazing. Take a look at the pro road race cars out there in GrandAm and World Challenge and you will see that every top running car using iron rotors has some sort of slotting machined in the rotor face. This is not by any means an appearance upgrade. On a street only car, any quality rotor will be fine and any rotor surface will not offer any significant improvement over another. Drilled rotors offer the most bite and perform better in the rain, but the improvements on a street only car will likely be negligible. We recommend slotted for track use and all of our race teams are using them with great success.
