i just got some 03 oem springs. how do you tell which springs are for the front and which are for the back?

The easiest thing is to look at which springs have the light gray or black plastic silencing wrap on them, or traces of the glue that once held them in place, those being the fronts. The other way is by outside diameter. Simply take a tape measure and the springs that measure 5" across are your rears.

 

thanks! gsedan35, i was hoping you would find this thread i've been following all the info you posted about the oem Z springs for the Gs. this week i should get the unrevised Z springs on my '05 sedan. just to confirm, the springs are black and have 1 colored dot on them right?
