Default HKS Hypermax II Question

Are these discountinued? If so did HKS ever give a reason why? Were they defective?

IIRC they were pulled from the american market. Since they are still shown in the JDM catalog, they were not defective. Who know's why they pulled them from our market, too stiff for north american roads or viewed as redundent with the RS introduction, really we don't know. Though I really doubt a forthright answer would come from HKS USA. You should still be able to buy them, but you might want to have a conversation with the authorized seller about warranty, then call HKS and confirm that you do indeed have a warranty.

Cool thanks! The primary reason I was looking at the Hypermax IIs over the RS is because of the spring rates.

Well hypermax II valving specs are on the HKS's Japan site and I think it's pretty safe to say that valving wise they are a good deal stiffer then the RS setup. Looking at spring rates RS vs II differ only by 56lbs.
