Default Twisted front break disks!

First of all, I am a new member (And what a great forum!)
And second, I am from Norway so please excuse my bad english (or american...)

OK, I got a problem with my Z... I've just drove on a track in germany called Nürburgring, (If you have played GT4 you know what I mean ) And after I did my last lap, my front break disks got twisted!

So, I am wondering, is this a well known problem for the 350Z???
(Oh yeah, I got the track model with Brembo breaks....)

Have someone else suffered from this problem?? Thank you all for replies....

First, your english is fine; welcome to the forum. Second, I don't think there's a member here that hasn't heard of the Nurburgring and isn't jeaolous as Hell that you got to drive your Z on it.

That's a tough track on brakes for sure (speaking from GT4 experience) . When you say twisted rotors, I assume you mean they warped and braking is very uneven and pulses alot now? Perhaps you didn't go through a cool down lap? At any rate, I'm sure more track experienced people can help you; if you don't get responses here, try the road racing section of the forum.

Oh, and stock Brembo rotors are very expensive; there are better and cheaper aftermarket options available. Look into Stoptech rotors as replacements. You may need new pads as well if you fried them.

Alot of ppl who track their Z's end of getting BBK (big brake kits) b/c the OE brake (including Brembos) just don't hold up under hard breaking tracks...I have a non-brembo Z, but my main problem with breaks is break fade and going through pads in less than a day.

+1 for a cool down lap

Yeah I guess im such an ***, who have driven my Z at the 'ring.... If anyone of you get the opportunety sometime, You'll get a once-in-a-lifetime-experience.... Man, that racetrack..... I Have'nt got words....

And we'll move over to my breaks now, I mean just what you say, my steering wheel pulses as hell when I go for a break-down... And you've said something about a cooling lap.... hmmm the problem with the 'ring is that 1 lap is gonna take around 8.40 sec, if you are a skilled driver... And Imagine what almost 10mins of hard-breaking will affect your disks.... In my hard breaking-case I got twisted rotors.....

Anyways I think this is just to poor for a such a sportscar, witch costs 135000,- dollars in Norway.....

Yeah, as you say the brembo rotors are so expensive, I have to pay 1.800 dollars for 2 front disks and pads....

And aftermarket breaks can you just forget asking about here in Norway, because either they cant get it, or else they want a pile of money in advance to get your parts....

It's never easy over here, just to get new wheels for my Z, I went trough a living hell......

DandaMan

is it the front rotors or rear?

if it is the rear then I ask --> at any point during your track day did you park your car with the parking brake on?

leaving your parking brake on (in the pits for example) - the heat from the pad/caliper focused on one spot on your rotor will warp it.
