Default Which schocks with Hotchkis TVS kit?

My Hotchkis TVS kit is on the way and I am also thinking of replacing the shocks at the same time. Is it plausible to replace just the front shocks (one of them is letting me down lately), and which particular shocks (least expensive!) you guys would recommend?
Thanks.

I bought the Hotchkis TVS kit (but ended up not using the springs), however I thought when I got them that they were designed to use the stock shocks.

Hotchkis springs were specifically designed for use with oem 03-04 shocks. Theirs no reason why they can't also work well with 04.5+ shocks.

So can you install TVS on 2005 or newer Z?
I am somewhat confused.

You should be able to install on a newer Z, but it's just that when they did the research and development for the springs they did it on a 2003 model which is known for having bad shocks.

I would highly suggest using the Tokico D-Spec as the price is very nice for a quality shock. Another choice would be the Koni Sports.
The Hotchkis have seem to be quite a popular spring as of late and we only have two left.

we've used it many many times on the stock struts from 03 through 06. Works wonderfully and no need to change the shocks at all unless yours are worn
