Default Possible problem w/ rear brakes??

I just changed out my rear and front brake pads today and I noticed that the rear caliper had some fluid leaking out of the seal. I noticed that it was definately leaking however because the wet pattern was going toward the ground. I think the seals from the piston may have bust once when I had to do an emergency stop because someone cut me off. Its like that on both rear calipers. Fronts were dry and slightly rusty on the pad spacer, what I was expecting.
Is this common in Z's? I didnt notice any bubbling in the fluid it self. The brakes feel nice, but not like they were when I first got the car.

If they were then it would be more apt to happen because the cylinder is strocked to its furthest point. Did u crack the bleeders after u compressed the cyl. and installed the new pads ? If u did u may have gotten a little air out of them, No need to have someone in the car, just let it gravity bleed.
It may right it self now that u have the cyls. pushed back down in the bores but u need to chk it. If it is still leaking then u need to pick up 2 kits and reseal them.

The rear pads were at more than half meat. I didnt use much force, and it didnt happen while i was clamping the piston done. It was already there from regular braking use. I could tell because one side (the lower portion) was wet, but above was dry. Obviously it was leaking and oozing down cause of gravity. Im not too sure. it was maybe a drop of fluid when i clamped it in, but it was already wet. I think the seal may have bust when I hit the brakes real hard once for an emergency stop, since the brakes felt like **** after that.

I wasnt insinuating that anything happened during u compressing the pistons--I asked if u opened the bleeders afterwords and was there any bubbles there. If u leak fluid u generally also suck air. It was a diagnostic question. I would chk that and see if u have any air in the caliper. Tap the cal a couple of times with the bleeder open to break loose any air that is clinging to the in sides of the Cal.----Kits are cheap if u need to put them in.

I didnt touch the bleeder. Just clamped the piston in (w/ the old pad) and put the new pad in. I noticed the liquid, cleaned it up w/ brake cleaner so when it leaks agian, it'll be obvious and hopefully the dealership can fix it under warranty.

K --cool ----But in the future if u do a brake job like that -----After u remount the CALs----just crack the bleeders open, Tap them and close the bleeder when u dont see the little bubbles ----Theres always a little air in there
