Default Megan Racing Big Brake Kit...anyone got it?

http://www.meganracing.com/products/...=536&catid=116

6 piston front and 4 piston rear. Looks like two piece rotors too. Not bad for less then the price of an AP 6 piston front setup only.

3k for that isn't a bad price.
Looks like the rotors are similar to a NISSIN sportbike design. (similar to what was on my 2004 Kawasaki 636)
Nothing to scoff at for sure.

You'd be surprised how many different brand BBK's are actually made in China. It's just a matter of the factory QC really.

Agreed. And the 240 crowd seems to be very happy with their coilovers. I'm more interested in the rotor design (cooling vanes etc) and the materials used to make the caliper brackets then anything else. Theres not a lot of data about it on the site. Any vendor have this that wants to comment on them?

My biggest concern with these would be if there was any real R&D done on setting up the piston sizes to create the proper front to rear bias. There are so many BBK's on the market that create worse stopping distances than stock.

Second concern would be replacement parts? What if you melt a dust seal?

Thrid is price. I only paid $3600 for 14" Stoptechs front and rear, new. I would spend the extra $600 any day over these Megan units.

megan racing...you get what you pay for.

for example, test pipes that last half a day before cracking.

Well I tend to agree with all the points which is why I asked if anyone actually has these. I'd like to get more info on their quality. I'm not saying I'm going to buy them. Hell I can get the Fastbrakes BBK (All Wilwood components) for $1000. I just saw this while browsing the internet last night and found it interesting that no one on this board that I know has tried them.

If any site sponsors that carry Megan want me to test these out, I would be more than happy.

that's because none of those guys really know the first thing about suspension and how to properly adjust for given conditions

I don't like Megan Racing at all. I think their materials quality is lousy and I bet their QC is lacking. They copy designs and steal designs and merely charge less for them. Not cool.

Brakes are a crucial part of a vehicles dynamics, especially if you use your car in any competitions. My money would go to the company that actually invests their time and money into their product doing R&D. Im not sure if Megan Racing does or not, but I know that all the BBK's we offer do, I.E STOPTECH, Project Mu, Endless, AP, etc. A BBK is a lot of money to spend so I would choose wisely.

Wouldn't you be embarrased rocking a brake kit with "MEGAN racing" on it?

I would refuse to have that on my car.

EDIT: And after seeing that video of that Megan Z crash? **** that. lmao.
