I hate this car so much. I am seriously considering going back to stock over all of this.

Yeah, it doesn't take much to make you regret an "improvement." I know I was swearing it up and down.....but mainly because of the headaches with the local Nissan dealership over the ABS parts.

Has anyone not installed the shims. I'm gonna take them out and see if that fixes it.

I've never had issue with VDC & SLIP lights but I did have the ABS light come on. How did the installer fix it? Put the stock bracket on and the ABS light is gone.

I just have the ABS and the Brake light on. I'll try the stock bracket. Did you run the spacer?

I used everything that came with it except the bracket.

OK, I got the ABS and Brake light to go away this morning. I drove my car down the street and I had no lights until I hit the brakes a few times. So I parked it and took the brackets off of the ABS and now the lights are gone. Before I took them off the ABS was actually not working properly, I locked up my brakes while barely using any force. I am still running the spacers just not the brackets. Hope this helps others

Mine was the same. No lights, until I drove 1/4 mile, and then the ABS activated at driveway speeds. The problem with mine was, once it started, it didn't stop, until the sensor and control unit were replaced.

I'm glad you had much better luck.

I installed my SPC's and Tanabe DF210's this weekend and skipped the shims. I wanted to see what it looked like before going through the trouble. I'm tempeted to get an alignment to see what my camber is... and if i need the shims, then go back and install them. However, this thread has me a little worried.

You're definitely going to have to get it aligned after dropping it more than 1", and adding the camber arms.

Of course I know that sir!

I was stating that I didnt want to install the spacers until I was sure if i needed them or not. The only way to find out is with an alignment. However, I'm waiting for the new springs to settle.

The spacers aren't the problem, they push the hub out a little bit so the camber arms can clear the fenderwell. Don't worry about the shims being the problem, it's the ABS bracket. Just don't put that on.

SCHROED, I'm confused now. Can you elaborate? I thought that the sole function of the spacers was to add more positive camber, only if needed. Addition of the spacers doesn't change the length or location of the upper control arms; so how does does it change its clearance to the fenderwell?

Thanks,
George

I figured it moved the hub out so it moves the whole assembley that the upper control arm attaches to. Therefore it gives more clearance for the control arm either from the tire or the fenderwell. I think it is also used for more camber adjustment.

I just got my complete SPC front camber kit installed by a shop. They initially had the same problem but was able to fix it by adjusting the ABS sensor bracket. If you're in the Atlanta area and have the problem, I can refer you to the shop. They should be able to fix it for you.

Hate to bring this thread from the dead, but I am now having similar problems.

When I first installed the SPC Front camber kit and shims, I had no lights come on BUT, It seemed like I had brake noise coming from my front left tire. I figure the sound was from a bad pad install or something. So I continued to drive it and the car would brake fine but just made the noise only around 30-10mph's. Once I got below 10mph or so the sound would cut off, almost like if the noise was electrical not so much mechanical. Today I was driving the car and the ABS, BRAKE, TCS, and SLIP light came on. I went to brake and the car braked fine with no noise at any mph. Now I know the problem is with my abs sensor and not my actual brakes.

Now the question is, did I mess up my abs sensor? The car starts with no lights but as soon as I roll now the lights come on. I am going to try what one of the posters said, installing the abs sensor without the supplied SPC brackets and see if that helps. Any help would be appreciated...

Just took the brackets off the abs sensor. One was bent. I tried just installing the sensor and now I cant drive the car with TCS on because every time i give the car gas the TCS activates... Any ideas?

I just got off the phone with Technical Support from SPC... they said the that you only need to use the spacers if you need negative camber.. the camber Arm will only give you positive camber... so before installing these if you car has negative camber you can install just the arm to correct the negative camber to brin you to 0 or a little positive. If you have nay questions you can call the Technical Support Line at 1-800-525-6505. They re very helpful and are aware of the issues with ABS and TCS...

I'm thinking of purchasing this kit as well. So you can get by without installing the provided shims and ABS bracket? Which will prevent the possibility of warning lights appearing?
