I installed my shims the other day, but my problem was over torqueing the hub bolts. My dust cover was rubbing against my rotor not allowing it to spin freely. No lights for me though. Did you maybe bend that ABS bracket while tightening the bolts? I noticed that little piece seems pretty flimsy and can be bent easily.

Default figured it out

hey guys, i finally got sick of messing with my abs sensor, so i called spc performance talked to the tech dept. and all i did wrong was overtighten the 13mm nut on the bracket that they provide and it bent the bracket and was to close to the abs. my brackets must have gotten bent from overtighting them so i had to bend the back, but the guy from spc said he would send me new ones, if anybody has any question feel free to ask. zach

As am I. The installer did everything correctly, yet no matter what the lights have come on, and stayed on. Now my dash looks like the warning light panel of a Russian nuclear power plant.

Anyone have an easy, and permanent solution???

I was all set to order those front control arms until I read this thread, now you guys have me a little nervous (note: very pleased with the SPC rear camber kit).

If I would have known before ordering, I wouldn't have. I'd have spent the money, and gotten the SPL's.

Questions:

Do the shims/spacers go between the wheel bearing-hub assembly and the aluminum suspension upright?

If so:

Do they add Positive camber?

If so, can they be turned upside-down and used to add negative camber? (without using the upper-A arms)

I just installed the SPC upper control arms without installing the shims.

The shims allow you to have more positive camber. I am dropped on Tein S techs and my camber isn't so bad that I needed the shims.

anybody have a picture of the SPC camber shims? "not installed just loose"

(I did try the SPC web site, pics no good there)

I am still wondering if it can be installed upside-down to give more negative camber

I don't know if this is the answer. ABS sensors need to have a minimum clearance to read the groves on your brake rotor. Usually when a sensor is removed, to set that clearance, push in on the sensor till it seats against the rotor. To make sure it is seated correctly, spin the rotor a couple of turns to allow for rotor run out. I am not a Nissan mechanic, but I have set up the ABS systems on big trucks. I know that the systems are technically the same.

My install yielded the same problems, my dash was lit up with all the idiot lights (and my ABS kicking in on occassion). I was going to head back to the shop to have them space the sensor correctly, but for whatever reason it kind of worked itself out and I no longer have any problems. Weird.

When mine were installed, the installers had no idea why the spacers were needed, and thought they may have started the problem.

All I know is, it's a severe design flaw on SPC's part.

Are you not running the spacers?

I am. The installer said the instructions called for them, so he added them. He also added he didn't think they needed them, and the install would have been fine without them.

All I know is a sensor ended up going bad, and subsequently the ABS control unit, although it may have easily been a coincidence.
