Default Eibachs Installed: Pics and impressions...

With the help of 2 of my buddies I installed Eibach springs on saturday. Install was fairly easy, would have taken about 3 hours if i hadn't ripped my arm open on an exposed brake line bolt trying to undo things. The fronts were more difficult. They took about 2 hours. The service manual states you remove the strut bar, strut bolts, brake cables, and unbolt the bottom of the strut to remove. This did not allow enough room for the strut to slip out. We ended up unbolting the control arm and the sway bar. The rear was so friggin easy I thought i did something wrong. Both side of the rear was done in less than 45 minutes.

Impressions - the ride height is a little lower, not too crazy. I'm actually hoping they'll settle a little more. The ride is no harsher than stock, honestly. But it does feel nicely tighter throught the corners. Thumbs up from me.
Here's some pics. I didn't take any specifically to show the drop, these were shots from a get together at my place yesterday.

Next to a vette and M roadster for fender gap comparison.

sweet rides man, z really does fit it w/ that crowd. N E ways glad to here the Eibachs are working out for you. Far as i can tell, car looks a little better (hard thing to do). Why did you chose just the springs, not say a spring shock combo.....just wondering.

Looks good!

Can't wait for the pics of the side view, showing the new gap.

Did you use a spring compressor to get the old ones off?

I was wondering if this was a DIY job or not...I'm pretty handy, but first I have to decide if i'm gonna go with the eibachs or a set of coilovers.

Thanks man. Honestly, I was pretty happy with the ride quality of the car and living in brooklyn and long island, a car that is too stiff because undrivable. i made that mistake once before. I just wanted the car a little lower, and a little tighter when cornering.

Aloha - I used a spring coil compressor. It's a must for the fronts.

letmeZ1 - I made some black grilling to replace the amber. I figured, more air maybe?? Haha. No I just hated the amber and I want the whole friggin car black!

I'm going to take more shots this weekend when i give the car a better backdrop. The drop is noticable but not too extreme.

Bounce is much better. The car feels a lot less floaty, not that it was all that floaty to begin with, but you feel a huge difference when encountering a bump while cornering.

I too would have liked to see some side shots up close for a more "accurate" depiction of the lowering. BUT........I won't have to wait long! Mine will be here tomorrow!

With the Eibach's dropping the car at least 1", getting back to oem specs is not in the cards. The question that comes up next is, if you looking about your actual specs that the alignment machine just spit out, are you off enough in your mind to justify the expence of buying the parts required to get those numbers right? You will either fix just the rear, and I recommend the SPC kit for that, or you will also fix the front too.
