Question Brake difference between 17" & 18" wheels?

I need some help here in understanding why there are two different part numbers for brake pads with or without 18" wheels? Aren't the calipers the same? (Non Brembo). why does it matter when replacing non Brembo pads? Thanks!! Example: went to Kragen auto parts website looking for non brembo pads and the question pops up and also notice they have different part numbers. Im now confuse since my car originally came with 17's but now wears 18's

The problem... you went to Kragen, I bet they asked if you had A/C too.

There is Brembo and non-Brembo.

The factory service manual lists part numbers for Brembo and non-Brembo brakes, there is no distinction made for the 17" vs 18" wheel setups. As Chris pointed out, you only have two choices.

If you're getting two parts listed for non-Brembo brakes, maybe they distinguish type of pads, i.e. metallic vs semi-metallic.
