Variable Camber Steering
If anyone caught the SEMA coverage on the SPEED channel, they had a little segment on this. Some pretty cool ****; I hope developement continues; this would be awesome on the Z. What do you guys think?

A high caster [+6] angle along with some other tricks [angled upper link]allows variable camber as the wheel angle increases.............The 1990 Q45 had this feature which allowed limted negative camber straight ahead with increases as the wheel angled moved towards 35 degrees.........roughly 1 degree per 5 degrees of wheel angle..............this was in addition to the body roll camber gain curve.

Hmm, good point; this would probably only be effective on the track. It would need some sort of electronic control to compensate for speed and cornering Gs to work in variable driving conditions. Still, it's a pretty cool idea.

I can see this as a way to compensate for the poor camber control that McPherson struts get you, but with a decent double a-arm suspension, it's totally unnecessary. Between caster and steering axis inclination, you can get the same effect.
I'd never buy this, especially if they make the rear tires camber out. That's just asking for trouble. But, then again, I'll not buy any car with McPherson struts...

The angle upper link [old Q] was a way to gain the benefits of a Short Long A-Arm suspension in a more compact form [equal to the space consummed by McPherson].
Unfortunely, relying on just 2 rubber bushing vs 4 of A-Arm meant they wore twice as fast.
Important to design a suspension that doesn't need to be totally rebuilt every 60k. Something often lacking in performance cars vs top of the line lux cars.
