Default Brake upgrade question

Ok if I go with a say brembo 4 piston caliper brake upgrade upfront. Keep in mind I will be doing some autox and some spirited driving on the freeways as well as stopping at the drag strip. I was just putting the brembo as an example I will probably go with stoptech. What would you guys reccomend I do with the rears. Go with a bbk in the rear, or just upgrade to slotted rotors or similar with better pads. Im just confused as too what I will need. I will be purchasing some time in may. I also plan to go single turbo withen the next year or so.

Unless you want the looks of a BBK at both axles, you dont need a rear kit. Just upgrade the pads.

I run the AP Racing 14.25" 6 piston front kit and the stoptech stage II in back. I want to upgrade the rears but only for looks since the stock rear rotors are dwarfed by the AP kit.

I was thinking about the willwood 13.6 upfront and the upgrade as you listed in the rear.

I can't really recommend the Stoptech stage II kit, just because I think the pads suck for any serious work. They're fine for street use.

I dont have any experience with the Wilwood kit, I've heard both good and bad.

Performance wise, it probably does matter, but not at the level you will be using your brakes for. For autox, and street driving, you'll be fine with just a front kit.

awesome, does anyone make a rear bbk that I could get away with on the rear that on the cheaper side, as in sub 1k. Im really hoping to spend under 2500 for front and rear.

Sub 1k, no. You could go with the racing brake 13" kit that uses the stock caliper, or you can find the OEM brembo rear brakes. I've seen them listed on here for around $800.

Since your driving plans don't include track days (road course) you should be fine with upgrading the fronts. If you move on to bigger things, keep in mind that a better front setup will make your rears work harder also, and they are a lot smaller. They have smaller rotors, and therefore less cooling capacity. It would be wise to upgrade the rears if you find yourself going through rear pads a lot quicker. Even getting bigger rear rotors and brackets for them would be a big plus. For Wilwood 4 wheel setup, take a look at Fastbrakes.com.
I have Wilwoods, but haven't done anything more than autocross or drift with them yet. No complaints so far.

could always do a stoptech stage II minus the pads and throw on some nismo R-tune pads instead, theyre aggressive enough for track work. I'd go with 4 piston brembos btw, 40 pounds lighter than the stock front brake kits, theyre the same brakes on the old Ferrari F40's
