Default brake problem thread v.1239019213891

My brakes have a horrible squeaking noise coming from them. They squeak when im not on the brakes, when i turn, when i go over medium-big bumps, and they sound like babies dying in a fire when i actually brake. Im guessing the pads are worn down but the only thing is that i have only put 500 miles on the car. I bought the car used but was told they did a 100 point inspection (what the 100 points are is beyond me).

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be would be helpful.
and will the dealership fix the problem for free seeing as how they ****ing suck at doing their job.

(used search...nothing helpful)

i hate to say it but those 100 points inspection don't mean jack ****. Often times they wouldn't even change the oil in an used vehicle on the lot.

jack it up take off a wheel and see whats going on. perhaps a bent heat shield or something rubbing?

try heating up the pads with some hard stops, ie a bedding procedure.

multiple hard stops from progressively higher speeds.
