Default HREs and AP Racing brakes

Well, thanks to Paul at Avalon Racing my car is wearing new shoes. I went with the HRE 445s - 19X8.5 up front and 19X10 in the rear wearing Toyo T1S (245-40s front and 275-35s rear). Brakes are a massive upgrade over the stock Touring set-up with the AP Racing 6 Pistons up front with drilled and slotted two piece rotors. The rears were updated with Stillen rotors and metal matrix pads and lines front and rear are courtesy of Stop Tech. To top it off Paul's tech purged the system and replaced the fluid with Motul.

Here are a few pics of the front and rears....

By the way, if you don't mind, how much did you pay for that brake setup? What size are the rotors? front and rear?
Are they 2 pieces?
I got a track model so I don't really need upgrade my brake system but I want to replace the rotor to 2-pieces Drilled/Slotted ones...

Anyway, Awesome Brakes...

Default brakes fo rthe track model

Unless you swith to a different caliper, the only upgrades fo rthe track model is drilled and slotted rotors in OEM sizes. All the two price rotors require the rest of the kit.

There is no comparison tof the 4 or 6 kits out there compared to the factory Brembo kit. The factory kit is a base level 4 piston caliper.

Default The photos

Please remember that these photos can not be used as our Limited Edition cars are the feature and 90% sure of the cover of a major magazine.

The blue ARZ #2 may not be used in the article if the pictures are wide spread.

Please respect this as we would olike to see one of our customers cars included in the article along side my personal car and the one currently at the dealrship.

Regards

No problem, just wanted to see it out- of curiousity. I found a photo of the car in the General section- it is stunning. The brushed/clearcoated centers compliment the Daytona Blue perfectly.

BTW, after SEMA 2002, HRE photographed our LeMans Sunset SEMA 350Z: it will be shown as the feature car for the 440R series wheels in our forthcoming 2003 brochure.

Thanks for your efforts, guys.

Default Anytime

According to the editor of the magazine, the article will be huge. We are getting the cenbter spread, full feature article and with a high degree of certainty the cover.

In june we hit the Pro Show circuit with both cars(300ZX and the 350Z - ARZ #1) . Of course both are on HRE's. We will also have one or both cars at every race we run in GT-2.

Hmm... then does it mean that it needs a major modification to the caliper to replace the rotors to the bigger size or 2-piece rotors? Is it totally impossible to simply replace rotor with, say, Slotted/Drilled 13" rotors at front and rear?
Hmm..I thought it was totally possible...
If it isn't why is it not possible and what should I do then?

Default Difference

The brackets are totally difference. The rotor thickness is difference as well.

This kit needs to installed in it's entirety.

It was around $2,600. The fronts are 14.25" I believe, the rears match the stock rear size. The fronts are two piece, the rears are one piece...

Holy...$2600 for SIX PISTON Brake Set? That's not bad at all!
Even cheaper than 4-piston Brembos....
Wow...seems like a bargain...
By the way, 14.25 inch...thats just lunatic size...

As a racer, I respectfully disagree. I am extremely hard on brakes at the track and even in a near 1 hour session, I had ZERO brake fade on the stock Brembo setup. To say there is no comparison when what you are offering is overkill is a little unfair. A .357 will kill a fly, but a flyswatter will do just as well.

Cool

simply some information to help add facts to the debate of brake performance. It seems to depend on whether you measure improvement in inches, feet, or miles.

??? 9.5? 10? Are you talking about the rotor size of Non-Track Non-Brembo Brake setup? Cuz I was talking about the Track Brembo setup which is 12.7 inch fron and 12.7 rear (rear might be a little bit smaller, but not much and I'm not sure)

So is the Brake Pro rotors that Stillen offers for Track Brembo setup are 12.7 inches? which is exactly same as the stock size? what about 13'? would they fit? And from many indications I assume they are single-piece, not 2-piece right? Just wanted to make sure cuz I couldn't find those informations in Stillen Website.
