Default Camber Arms Necessary to keep tire wear down

I have a set of HKS rs coilovers and am waiting to install them until i have adjustable camber arms front and rear assuming that the camber will be too aggressive and wear my ties too quickly. What i want to know is there anyone with the experience on this set up that knows if the camber adjustments are necessary to keep the camber within reason, and also whats this im hearing about with added camber adjustment, toe adjustibility is lost? Am i understanding correctly to assume that if i do get camber arms to correct the negative camber gained with the drop, my toe adjustment will be smaller?

Bottom line, what do you guys recommend, i just want to keep the alignment specs close to oem but only slightly more aggressive. What do i need to complete the set up.

Any input is appreciated, sorry if its a repost.

I have the SPC camber arms and toe bolts for the rear. Im dropped on Tanabe Springs. Best thing I ever bought. If I were still keeping my car I would get a camber kit for the fronts too. Tires are wearing evenly in the back. Also, get a good alignment as well.

if you were using the camber kit to solve the uneven tire wear, is it still neccesary to get an alignment?

I switch between summer and winter tires and I'm experiencing uneven tread wear on the inner area for the front and outter area for the rear, this was because my winter setup are 225/50/17 front and 235/50/17 rear. So I'm looking into getting a set of camber kit to fix the problem.

Does it make sense?

Yes if you lower the car you really should get something to adjust the camber and toe. The stock units run out of adjustment quickly. While camber kills tires toe kills them even more so. I run Cusco A Arms up front and SPC camber arms and toe bolts in the rear. For the money there is no better value that will keep your tires in one piece and still give you as much adjustment. With the Cusco A Arms my car sites a -1.5 degrees camber up front with 0 toe and with the SPC camber arms and toe bolts the rear is at -1.5 degrees camber and a total toe in of -0.1 degrees. The SPC setup is like $200 for the arms and bolts and the Cusco A Arms were $400 shipped. You won't find better units for that price and bang for the buck is off the charts...

what kind of measurement did you use to set these specs?
did you set any marks on the SPC arms by comparing to the stocks before you put them on?
how are the Cusco A arms (front) diff from the SPC arms (front)?

I took my car to an alignment shop. If you are trying to do your own alignment adjustments have fun with that. Your best bet in that case is to take it to an alignment rack and have them set the camber to the first setting and mark it then set it to the second setting and mark it again. Of course it doesn't take a lot of movement on these units to make huge changes in camber so you still may not get what you are looking for but its the best bet for you. As for the Cusco and SPC A arm differences search around as several comparisons have been done. I have never used or installed a SPC A Arm so I couldn't tell you the performance delta there. All I know is they use some form of shim on the hub and that there were problems with some units recently.

the uneven tread wear I'm experiencing are not more than an inch wide, would you say it's not worth it? I do not compete in autoX or road race.

I'm having a different experience. My front tirewear is fairly even but my rears are wearing heavy on the outside. I'll have to recheck my alignment numbers for the rear and I'll post it up. Shouldnt my rears be wearing out evenly??

BTW I have Kinetix rear toe & camber arms and SPC toebolts. I dont think I should be getting this kind of wear but I cant say I'm an expert at this stuff!

Input?

Might be due to your alignment. I see that your in OC. You should really check out West End Alignment. Darren there does an incredible job. This place comes highly recommended. Call them and setup an appointment. Hes always booked for at least a month. 310-808-9233

I have gone to West End. He did a great job!

Unfortunatly, I had to go to another shop because I needed to fix a problem, and well, here I am, uneven wear. I guess I have make an appointment.

I'm thinking either to go back to West End or heading to M-Workz. Still on debate though.
