Weird Incident with Suspension Porpoising
Has this happened to anyone? I was going on my morning commute on a main road doing about 50-55mph. I had to get on the freeway which runs perpendicular over the road i was on. So i merged right to get on the onramp which is a fairly tight half-circle.
As i get on the onramp i have to slow down so I downshifted from 3rd to 2nd...at the same time the road surface changes right at the transition from main road to onramp. We all know the suspension is bouncy. As i apply power (not much, i wasn't racing..just going to work) on this not-that-bumpy road surface my rear tires actually chirped. I think the porpoising around a turn actually made my rear get slightly airborne and the chirping let me know my tires had caught on the way back down. It wasn't a squeal from a progressive loss of traction...it was launch chirp.
I was like WTF?!!! This is crap. It never happened to me in my jza80 supra nor any of my other cars. Dammit...my teins better get in soon...tired of getting motion sickness from trying to see through my rearview mirror.

happened to me on the track, I didn't blip the throttle first, and when I downshifted to 2nd, the wheels chirped. Its actually like a reverse chirp, not when you upshift. In this case your engine revs were at a lower speed than what it would have been had you accelerated to the same speed in 2nd gear, if you can picture what I am saying. It was more of a skid before the engine speedcaught up with the tire speed.
