I recently put the Tanabe GF210s on my car. They usually give a 1 inch drop in the front and a 1.2 inch drop in the rear. Invision 350z is a forum sponsor on here and he sells them at a great price.

Also keep in mind that when you lower your car you'll most likely need camber arms; depending on how bad it is after being lowered.

For an inch drop just get tanabe gf210 springs.
drops: 1 inch front and 1.2 rear.
might need camber kit but I think the total with springs comes out < 800.

I do not know the drop height of the basics, haven't had time to look it up, this would be more applicable to the S-Techs... If your worried about being able to realign the vehicle within usable specs, here is the rule of thumb:

If drop <= to 1inch, after they have settled, a regular alignment job will get you back into good driving condition. Anything lower, you would want to look into some type of camber adjustments to prevent abnormal wear of the inner tires.

Dropping it anywhere in the ball park of an inch will require a rear camber kit. If you leave it as is you'll create excessive tire wear. Cost of Tires > cost of camber kit.


BTW: My tanabe gf210s drop created 2.6 degrees of negative camber on both rears. Stock camber arms can only be adjusted + or - 1/2 degree. So even if you were dropped 3/4 inch the rear camber and toe could not be fixed with stock camber arms/toe bolts.

With all due respect, you're the second person that has said this. My S-techs never required a rear camber kit. If I'm not mistaken, the drop was 0.75 in the rear. After settling, it was closer to an inch. My alignment man was able to realign it just fine. I haven't had any type premature wearing. Is there something I'm missing?

No disrepect taken . What was your initial and final rear camber and toe specs.

The rear camber must be between -1.1 and -2.1. Toe must be between +0.04 and +0.12. For me personally I'd be smack dab in the middle then on the edges.

Oh man, I wish I could tell ya'. I had my car re-aligned after I replaced the tires, installed my S-techs, and let it settle for a couple of weeks. I wanna say it was about a year ago. I took the rear wheels off 2 days ago to do some body work. I must say, the thread wear is even across the tire. This is why it's so hard for me to imagine anyone needing a rear camber kit...

Id do Hotckis springs for $135 and align it (somewhere good!) and you shouldnt have issues getting back into spec with the minimal rear camber/toe adjustment. They are also designed to be used with stock shocks. If you go 1.5" lower I guarantee you will be in the same boat as Dutchboy and need camber arms/toe bolts + install + alignment = $$$$$

How much does it typically cost to have a shop install the springs for you? I'm interested in mild drop on my stock 04 as well. I like the specs that Tein gives you with less than an inch of a drop. Can someone confirm that it only lowers 0.7" in front and 0.6" in rear?
