Bed your brakes, do a search for "Bedding Brake Pads". However if you are running slotted and cross-drilled rotors, you are fuct.

Bedded them as per procedures (10 stops from 60-10) let them cool off, did it again.

They are slotted, not cross-drilled, though.

Slotted are just going to be a bit noisy, drilled would make them even noisier. Turn up your stereo and the noise will go away.

The slot/drill pattern wont have an effect on the squealing noise. The Axxis Ultimate pads included in the kit do have a tendendcy to squeal at light pedal pressures at lower speeds which you are likely experiencing. You may want to try another bed in cycle to really build up the pad transfer layer on the rotors which is the best way to keep the squealing to a minimum.

Are there pads which have close to the same level of performance as the Axxis Ultimates, but are quieter?

There's the Axxis Deluxe pads which will be quieter and produce a lot less dust but the performance will suffer a bit compared to the Ultimates. Unfortuantely, I dont' think there's such a pad that has high bite, no dust, and no noise. There's always tradeoffs.

We are the manufacturer, not the retailer.

As to the question of quieter pads with similar performance, that is a lot to ask since the Axxis pads are very tough to beat with regards to bite and temperature range on something that is very streetable.

A lot of guys like HPS pads pads (a lot of them dont like them either) which have less dust and noise but also a reduction in bite. Our parent company Centric parts offers a few compounds which have performance levels similar to that of HPS which are usually available for much less. If you have a compound in mind that we do not carry, you can check out the following link on our FAQ page to see what part numbers would be needed to fit our calipers.

Having two or more bed in cycle, will this effect performance? If so, how?

Additional bed-in cycles will serve to build up the pad transfer layer which is imperative for optimal performance since the pads work on adherent friction as opposed to abraisive friction. If the pad transfer layer isnt robust enough, it will wear away quickly or not have enough material to work at its best. More info here:

Well, doing another bed in cycle (even though I did two complete bed ins immediately after the install), did indeed get rid of the squealing.

However, I am still going to go with the Axxis Deluxe for street driving, and switch out to PFC 01's for track days.

I know this is an old thread but any rubbing issues with the caliper & wheels? Well vs what happened at Hastings. I'm starting to worry this kit will not fit with my wheel size/offsets. Thanks!
