Default Coilover Assembly Prob

Please forgive my poor wording but I will try my best to explain this prob.
I have the Stance Coilover setup and without propper knowlege I tried to lower the suspension by turning the upper coils to the point where it looks like the assembly came apart. When the car is jacked up I can literally push the rim down and I can see the tip of the coilver come out of the upper body portion. Does this mean that I will need a spring compressor to put it back together?

Need pics to better understand what is going on.

But you don't need a compressor to put it back together. Just drop the assembly out of the car and put it back together.

So when exactly do you need a compressor because at this point the spring is just moving around on its own.

Thanks for your reply and help.

The coils are so short with stance, that you do not need a spring compressor.

A spring compressor is usually used on stock suspension.

Does anyone have a diagram of how the stance coilover setup is put together. It would just help to see what came apart and how its supposed to be put back together. Thanks a million and all the replies are appreciated!!

Ok I shoulda took pics because i just took the coilover out and foud out that the top portion came off because he nut at the top was not secure. So at this point I thought the prob was fixed but when I took it for a test ride it still makes a sound when i hit even the slightest bump. I can't decribe the sound its louder than a chain of clicking sounds, almostlike taking a plastic bat and continuously hitting the inside of the fender. The person at STANCE said that my coilovers might be bottoming out... but even with the car raised it was the same result. I am so lost....

No I bought the coilovers from this JDM store and they usually take customer cars to a nearby shop to do installs. But when I got there they were doing it on site and the guys installing them didn't look too professional.

You have coilovers with full height adjustability. They should have had the correct minimum about of spring preload on the fronts out of the box, meaning the minimum amount needed to keep the spring in place when the suspenison is unladen. To adjust front ride height you adjust the lower mount and never tough the spring seat. Since the Stance setup you have sounds like it's the true coilover setup in the rear with the spirngs on the dampners themselves, you set rear ride height the same way.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their input. I ended up taking the whole coilver apart and re assembling it to mimic the side that wasn't making any sounds. Now the noise is very minimal and the car drives great.
