Noises after installing camber arm on lowered car
I have the Eibach Sportsline kit that drops it 1.2" front and rear. When the alignment was done the rear's were amazingly able to synch up, however the fronts needed the camber arm. I was able to purchase the SPC camber arm kit for the fronts and was advised these were a bit different because they were installed on the upper part of the front and not at the bottom where they usually are (according to the tech).
Well ever since I put the camber arm on and did the alignment I have heard some metal clicking noise at any given moment, either from acceleration, while braking, or after going over a bump. The first time it began it was only in the front and the car tech checked it, tightened everything and I drove home with the same noise, but then, it just disappeared and everything was fine for 2 weeks.
However, I began noticing my steering wheel was off center to the right when driving straight! So i took it back and lo and behold my alignment was off (the first time it was basically centered and set) and the mechanic thought I hit something. I didn't drive out of the norm and would go through some rough parts of roads, but nothing MAJOR like hitting a curb.
He went ahead and did the alignment again, the steering wheel is now centered, but the quick metal or part on part or quick grind noise (hard to describe) has come back and can now be heard from the front and rear...never both front and back, always just one quick noise...sometimes it will make the noise one after the other such as during a turn.
Sorry for the long post, but want to explain this the best I can. Is anyone aware of what this possibly could be by chance or have had the same experience? The mechanic has no clue where the noise could be coming from and I am left just driving it as is with the worry I am doing some long term damage.
I also have 19 inch rims on 245/35 front and 275/35 rear with no roll. When I originally lowered the car and had the wheel set up I did not get this noise...it appeared to only happen after getting the SPC camber arm...but I only got those for the front, not the back where some of the noise can also be heard.
Thanks in advance!

thank god!! i thought i was the only one. I know exactly what your talking about. On the driver side i do hear a distinct grinding sound like when your brake pads are worn at connects with straight rotor and then just a few days ago i noticed that anytime i reach around 80 mph there is this clicking sound on the passenger side!!
I don't know what it is either i have'nt driven the Z for a week because i'm scared just like you. I will have the tech definitely have a ride with me in the car.
at first i thought some underbody panels were loose but everything checks out okay.
Hey thanh27 lemme know when you find out exactly what it is!!

It would appear it is linked to the SPC arms, BUT I am getting the noise from the rear too and the rear is all stock, only the front has the new camber arms...
