Unless you are comparing two stock cars from the factory, every car will respond to bar settings differently depending on what your setup is.

The simple solution is to do exactly what the factory recommends. Start with a safe setting as recommended stiffest front, softest rear then see how it feels. Try all sorts of combinations to find out what works best. There seems to be a fear that the wrong combination will see you fly off the road the minute you drive the car which is not so. The differences are subtle and only really noticeable when pushing the limits consistently as you would on a track day.

I run front stiffest, rear softest, which you would think would be an understeering pig. But my car is neutral because I run a square tyre setup and my spring rates suit that. I went through every other combo from max oversteer to find this out. Lots of track testing, see how it feels, look at lap times etc. On the road, just make a change and drive around for a few days to see how it feels. Then try another setting if you're not happy.
the man knows of what he speaks Thanks for being the voice of logic!

Good place to start, my "instructions" said softest rear, stiffest front. Know my car well enough, the front went to 3rd stiffest, rear med. Now that I have about a month of miles on it, I'm going to run the front one setting stiffer than the diagram you show, but that's my car for the kind of driving I do.

I suspect from what I feel so far, I'll end up on most stiff front, middle rear, just because my driving conditions, car, springs, etc, that's what suits my needs.

One setting fits all, they wouldn't bother with 7 positions total F/R Try out max stiff front, least stiff rear, I thought that was just not sound, now what I will end up with most likely is "max stiff front, med or least stiff rear" - go figure, maybe they had it right to start with for an initial setting,

You have to be ready for trying our different combinations based on what you have w/re to car, suspension, goals. With stock springs/dampers but much lighter wheels, that seems to be what is probably going to work best for me, because I have the staggered setup still with 275 R/ 245 front.

It's better than "trial and error" but IMHO you still have to invest the time to set these up for what you need, no magic setting. It would be really sad to just set them where anyone tells you, it's your ride and your driving needs, no mine or anyone else...
