Default my brembo quote by nissan

so i drop my car off at nissan for some warrenty work and they called to tell me i have 2mm left of my brake pads. to me the car stops fine and im wondering if nissan is just trying to get a brake job out of me....they told me with new pads, machine my rotors and bleed the brake, he might have said more. but he said because they r brembos everything is more but he quoted me 600 and somthing dollars.
can somone tell me if you think he is jerking my chain.

Do it yourself and safe 70%. And yes that sounds about right coming from the dealership.

labor should cost the same. unless the rotors has uneven wear, you don't need to machine them. run your fingers over it and you should be able to tell. there may be 2 bleeders on the brembo calipers so bleeding time could be double what it would be.

i would look to find some brake pads and quality fluid elsewhere (ate fluid is good for a cheap price, works same as ate blue but without the dye) and have a reputable company replace the pads and bleed the brakes for u. in all honesty, you may only need brake pads. if your pedal still feels nice and firm and you don't track the car, you don't need to bled.

agreed on doing it yourself. really is more intimidating when you think about it but it's a very simple thing to do.

Dealerships are a rip-off....brembos are EASIER to work on than the non-brembo brakes. I can change both left/right rear pads under 30mins.
