Default steering ?

i just had a new rack and pinion put into the car and i never noticed this before (i also have tie rods for more steering angle) but i can make 2 1/2 turns of the wheel to the right but only 2 to the left. was this an install error? does something need to be done here?

yes - you need to find a shop that knows what they are doing

All kidding aside, it sounds like they didn't bother to take basic measurements of your tie rods when swapping to the new rack, and did the el-quickie install. Take it back, insist they do it properly, and get an aligment asap (yes, you need an alignment after you replace the rack)

I just busted my Infiniti dealer after they under inflated all 4 of the tires on my wife's G sedan: 28/28/28, and 26PSI on the left front. The TPMS warning light was coming on of course. Now just imagine if that same service tech had to swap a steering rack.

ok so i have tein inner and outer tie rods and i dont think the dealer changed the inner rods over when they added the new rack and pinion. soooo i think i'm SOL if they have already sent it back for warrenty, anyone know if there is anything i can do. i believe i told them i had aftermarket tie rods and they siad the tech would know by looking at them and will swap them over but now i'm assuming they just did the tie rod ends.
