Default New Alignment Help

I just got new rear tires and an alignment. After this I noticed that when I turn the wheel hard I it is like the car is really jerky. If I turn it just a little bit it will almost jump over to the way I turned it. When I turn the wheel back and forth the car wiggles a lot more and rolls more than it used to.

At high speeds the car feels really unstable and it is all over the place.

They just did a regular alignment and put the sensors on and adjusted it so all of the specs on the car were right in the middle or as close to the middle as they could get it.

What could be going on?

We really need to see the after specs listed on the alignment sheet the shop should have given you.

+1. So far as the car being all over the place at high speeds. There is a coating of some type (forgot the name) they put on the tires from there first made to protect them during shipping and storage. Just get out on the road and do some brisk (side to side) driving to wear this coating off. Had the same problem before, a month ago. Then the car will handle better. Kind of freaked me out also, until people here told me the issue.

Don't always trust alignments. Have it done at a reputable shop. I worked at an independent shop that didn't want to hassle with caster or camber adjustments. All alignments were basically just a toe-and-go. To get the camber and/or caster in spec, the min/max range can be changed, or the alignment heads can be 'jimmied' to give the appearance that a car is in spec. Either watch them do it (which is what I would do), or have it done at the dealer or a _well-known_ shop.

As far as your problem, it could be a couple things, as previously posted, the specs would help in diagnosing your problem.
