Rotora BBK Feedback from experience plz
I was looking at the STOPTECH 14" F+R Slotted Rotors/Red Caliper Kit that comes with pads and SS lines. BUT !! At my friend's shop, he has two sets of Rotora 6 piston BBK front and Rotora 4 pistion BBK rear. In this forum, many people doesn't like Rotora !? How bad is ROTORA compared to STOPTECH BBK ?? Any experience with Rotora BBK??

i dont know why people bash rotora its big over here on the east ive had mine for over a year im at 500 wheel and i stop on a dime! i love i have the same set up you are thinking about buying. This forum is kinda like a cult they do what everyone else is doing dont like to do things different. I rather be unique.
Romey, are those chrome plated Rotora's? Polished? Silver paint? Definitely got some bling going there - nice!
To the OP, I honestly don't know how one 6 piston brake set can be *that* different than another, particularly if the pistons are the same size... I would think that pedal feel and modulation would be similar. Heat capacity is going to be a function of rotor size and pad size. Stopping distance is going to be more a factor of your tires. Brake bias is not as much an issue on this car IMO because of electronic brake force distribution, so....
It's really a matter of your trust in the manufacturer to provide quality workmanship and parts. The reason StopTech is favored on these forums is because they are active and have provided the most track test data to back up their claims. Gotta give them credit for that... I've been on the lookout for at least a front BBK, and I haven't heard anything bad about most of the major players. That said, here is how they usually "rank" based on opinion alone:
AP Racing > Brembo > StopTech > Rotora > Racing Brake

Personally I own Brembo based on the deal I was able to get on them. I wouldn't by AP based on the inconsistanty in their kits. My money would be spent exclusively with Brembo or Stoptech. Rotora is OK, but more show than go from the research I did
Then there's always the issue of cost of ownership (initial cost vs. service life). I have not seen any non biased (3rd party) data collection on rotor or brake system reliability under different conditions for different cars. That's apparently a well guarded secret of each individual manufacturer.
So there's only anecdotal experience, heresay, and the occasional white paper....
And to make it even better, whatever data or reports do exist, often conflict - as the last two posts illustrate.

Rotora is a good company and they do make solid kits. They may not perform as well as others (if not the same, nobody has done some actual tests), but I doubt there is a significant braking difference between all the kits with respect to similar rotor sizes, pads, etc.
I was going to go with Rotora, but I got my Stoptech BBK cheaper than the Rotrora BBK.

I own Rotora, and I've heard people complain that there aren't a lot of replacement pad options out there. Not a problem for me, but if you're tracking all the time and want to have options available, may want to take it into consideration. Not firsthand knowledge -- just what I've heard.
I'm on my 2nd Rotora kit for my Z and one for my G35 and all have performed well. If you do any tracking make sure to get the H6 pads. My only complaint has been some pad knockback on the twisties but they are remedying this on the larger kits (8 & 12-piston). They should be debuting some new components for the larger kits at SEMA.
Had some problems with my Rotora BBK which weren't related to the manufacturer's quality control. They performed well. However, their customer service is TERRIBLE. Loren (sp?) at Rotora is a B1TCH. Bought my BBK from an authorized dealer. Had them installed by an authorized dealer/shop. When I had a problem with them, Rotora wouldn't (1) repair them even if I paid, (2) sell the shop a replacement caliper, or (3) sell the shop parts to rebuild the caliper. We never asked them to cover any work under warranty. The only choice I was given was to buy a whole new rear set. A BBK is a fairly large investment as far as mods go. Make sure you buy from a company that will take care of you down the road. Rotora FTL!
