Default Suggestions for new rotors/pads

I have a 03 z non brembo and the pads are getting low. I wanted to replace the rotors and pads. What brand should I go with? I prefer less brake dust if possible. YES I searched!

I just installed Powerslot Rotors and Hawk HPS pads that I bought from Adam and Kwame at Z1. While they've only been on for a short time I am happy with them and the price I paid.

I just replaced mine this weekend, and I have a 2003 track with the brembo's. I went with the EBC red stuff bads, and EBC rotors, got them for all 4 wheels for a total of $588 USD including shipping.

They are still in bed-in, but so far they seem to be working well. They squeak every once in a while, but that's normal during bed-in. So far braking is not quite as responsive as it was with the brembo pads and disks, however as said it's still in bed-in. Once it gets out of bed-in it i think they will work quite well. So far I only have 200 highway miles on the brakes, so they have a ways to go before they are really ready to go.

I chose the EBC combo because after searching through all the old brake posts here, there were a fair number of people that suggested either what they guy above did (HPS with Powerslot) or the EBC combo. Seems people complained more about cold weather braking and squeaking with the HPS pads (especially the ceramic ones), so I went EBC, and since i was going with EBC pads I thought I might as well go with the EBC rotors.

I will be changing my pads in the near future. How often should the rotors be changed or machined? secondly, can I run EBC pads on stock rotors or should I replace them too.

i like my carbotechs so far. the XP8's squeal when cold (but still less than hawk HP+) so i'd go with the ax6 or bobcat's for street use. they haul down when you warm them up though.

for rotors, just use blanks.

you should be able to use EBC pads on your rotors. rotors need to be turned if you have brake roughness. they need to be replaced when they're at the min thickness.
