Aside from this, are you possibly resting your foot slightly on the brake while driving? I have yet to come across an instance where the braking system engages autonomously.
Hawk HPS and no im not resting ma foot on da brake lol ..... installed by mechanic ....but doubt that is the problem because problems started before i changed them ...i only changed them because i thought that would fix it. Pit it this way I can be on a downhill slope and my car won't roll down ....

Master cylinder [sticking?] we see this when owners use the wrong fluid as a brake fluid...........probably not but always a thing to remember.
You would be surprised at the different fluids idiots use to refill brake.

Make sure the dust shield isnt bent outta shape and making contact with the rotor...
It might sound like it would never happen but I have seen it. This especially sounds like it because the car (a 240) was having the same symptoms.
at a dead stop it was hard to push the car and the car would want to bog when you gave it the usual amount of gas to get going. It sounded like the pads were really low and they just needed changing also
I know its a long shot but i am just throwing it out there
