preload should be set to a minimal amount, and adjusted as needed to suit your particular conditions, or as corner weighting needs dictate

What you talking about 1/4 of an inch. I was just wondering what other people had been getting if they gave it a bit more preload.

Colin - preload for each coilover can vary but Tein's instructions have general recommendations for what front and rear preload should be. I would start with those figures then adjust as needed.

With all due respect to the forum, the discussion of the net affects of preload on the rest of the suspension is far more advanced level of discussion than most here are capable of having. I certainly don't mind having it, as I think it could certainly benefit people. I only bring this up though to say I don't think you are going to get alot of feedback with a question such as this from actual people who have done it, because the overwhelming majority of people I don't think are playing with these features on their particular coilovers.

If there is a particular problem you are trying to solve, post it up, and hopefully a few of us here can give you some more detailed assistance

Thanks Adam very helpful as always.

It's not that I have a particular problem as such, just want to get the best out of my coilovers I can and my car is going back in on Friday to the get the geometry setup again now the springs have settled in and wondering if we should have a look at the preload.

We have a lot of Subaru's over here and after discussions with them they are running about 1" preload if i remember correctly.
