Default Hawk HPS Pads for Brembos, will they fit?

I have heard from several sources that the HAwk HPS pads will and also will not fit the Brembos brakes on the Track model 350Z and 6MT G35 Coupe. Does anyone know FOR SURE??? I e-mailed Hawk and they have told me once that they won't fit and once that they will. I would rather not spend $180 on pads to find out that they won't fit on my car.

Has anyone used these pads yet? Did you have any problems with them fitting?

Does anyone else have a recommendation on LOW DUST, good performing pads that WILL fit the stock Brembos?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Dennis

Dkmura on this board had a set of the Hawks on his Track model and swapped them out for another set which I cannot remember what brand they were, but he thought the new pads performed better than the Hawks. He just wasn't sure if the rotors would be compromised faster or not.

I know he always refers people to Andy Lim at Cobalt and has a very high regard for his knowledge and integrity. You can reach Andy at 877-562-9237.

For what it's worth, the Hawks squealed loudly and only knowledgeable people appreciated the noise.

Hope this helps.

The Hawk's fit just fine in the Brembos. The HPS's (S for street) don't squeal at all, but the HP+'s squeal like a pig. I have the HPS's all around for street, then put the HP+'s up front for track days.

HPS fit my car, well all but one of the front pads, I had to trim it slightly to fit.

Was it too long? that was a problem with the Carbotech's bobcats I got, they went in but only with significant force. How did you trim them? file? saw?

Does anyone else have any recommendations on pads for street use with less dust? Should I go along with the HPS's then? Anyone know a good place to buy them? I found SPLParts.com and they are about $160 for the full set.

I filed it down with an air grinder, it was just the upper corner, and just a tiny bit.

Go with the HPS pads. I've had them for about 2K miles. I am picky about a clean car. The stock pads had me cleaning the wheels every day or two. The HPS pads: brake dust is simply not an issue for me any more. No dust, or VERY very little. They fit my G quite well.

DOes everyone agree that the HPS's are a good choice?

I think i'll order them soon. I looked at my pads and I have about 1/4" left on the fronts. About the same on the rears too...
