Default Question for anyone with TEIN's

I just ordered my TEIN's today but need to know some info on camber before putting them on. How long have you had yours on without any camber plates or camber adjustment? Have you noticed a rapid increase in tread loss? I'm planning on getting the Stillen rods when there available but will probably ride for a month with none since I'm very impatient . Should I just wait the extra 3 weeks and have the rear camber adjusted or will I be ok for the 3 week time period? ALL input will be greatly appreciated since it will be the determining factor on the install. Thanks

If you dont drop it more than an inch you should be fine and can just get an alignment after. You will still be able to put it in spec. But if you drop it more than that there is no guarantees. I am about 1/2" lower all around than the recommended settings on the TEINs. And I am barely in spec, like right on the maximum which is -2.1 in the rear. Specified range by the way is -2.1 to -1.1. Also take into account that the springs will settle about a 1/4".

Install the suspension and wait 1-2 week to be sure the suspension is settled. Then adjust your camber.

As long as you don't drop the car >2" you should be able to get the camber back to or close to spec w/o camber plates.

The default drop on the Tein's is 10mm (0.4"). I left the front at 10mm and dropped the rear a total of 30mm (1.2"). The place that did my alignment was able to adjust my camber back to -1 degree all the way around w/o any camber plates of rods.

See, the thing is I have 245/40/19 up front so I only plan to drop the front about .5" and the about 1.5" similar to your drop failsaf. But are you sure you can adjust the front? Correct me if i'm wrong but I've heard the only way you can adjust the front is with the rods and traction rods are needed in the rear if you drop more than 1" inch. If this is true, how much did you pay for your alignment? Also, what drop do you have on your car importriders? Get back

When you go in for an alignment, some alignment shops allow you to come in and get free adjustments for 6-months or after "X" amount of miles. Install your parts, go in for an alignment, and then get the rest of your suspension parts and re-align everything for free.

Also, I'm going to get the EDFC next month but wanted to how long it takes the car to adjust the dampening? And how much was the install since I'm guessing it's a pain in the A$$ to run all that wiring through the dash and into the NAV console. Thanks

I would recommend getting the ECFC installed at the same time- otherwise you'll have to drop your rear suspension to install the motors on the rear.
It's actually not that hard to run the wire through the firewall. There is a pretty good sized opening behind the battery.
If you put the EDFC in the nav compartment you'll have to disassemble the center console which is relatively easy- but it's really cramped back there.

failsaf3 is right about installing the edfc and the coilovers at the same time for the rear.

in terms of damping adjustment response time...it does take a couple of seconds as the unit processes then tells the motors to move to the corresponding setting. it's not instant but you don't sit there for a while wondering if it's been adjusted either.

So where would you recommend I put the EDFC? Better yet, where do you guys have it sitting?

Mine is in the nav compartment, nice because you can close the door to hide it- I believe Cheston (Chebosto) mounted his in the space reserved for the heat seater buttons (in the center console)
