Default Top Nut Strut Reinstall

I'm going to install my hotchkis springs next week and had a question about reinstalling the top nut on the strut. With all the other cars I've worked on, I would just set my craftsman impact to setting 4 and hold the trigger 4 times at 1 second bursts. I've never had a problem, but I always have this unsettling feeling. That and my bro-in-law says if I impact it too hard, I could snap the threads.

Is there a tool or method I could use where I can actually be able to use my torque wrench and torque it back to spec?
