Default Little tab on passenger front end link?

I just installed some Hotchkis sway bars tonight, and I noticed this little tab on the passenger side front end link. On the stock bar, it clears over the end since it's shorter due to the lack of adj. holes.

It would not clear over the end or top of the hotchkis sway bar, so I had to rotate it and have the tab stick through one of the adj. holes. I searched and could not find anything on this. I just wanted to check to see if how I have it installed will be okay.

Any help would be appreciated. I wonder what that little sucker is there for?

Thanks,
Brian
