I need to replace my OEM rotors soon, they have been cut too many times and now they warp wayyyy too fast. I don't want to get a BBK, so I will just replace them with a good set of slotted rotors. I don't want drilled because I heard they can crack under high heat. I will also be replacing the pads, linesm and fluids at the same time I do the rotors.

Also I have the 2005 OEM calipers, NON-Brembo.

What rotor do you think I should get, I want to get a good quality rotor that can handle the heat.

I just got stoptech stage 2 put in my Z. It freakin STOPS. I have 265 front tires, brigestone 960AS pole position, and that doesn't stop them from locking up.

 

I got centric D/S Rotors
No problem. Can't say Upgrade from OEM
But still work like OEM ones.

had them 4~5 months no problem.

 

Where did you get them? Also, would any one give an opinion on Ebay rotors or are they really bad quality?

 

EBC are good OEM replacements.... so are their pads...

 

What do you guys think of the Stoptech stage 2 kits, I'm looking at those now.

 

You can't go wrong with Stop-Tech

 

I'm not sold that slotted are really worth the price unless you're tracking it heavily. I got some Centric stock replacement rotors for track use from Zeckhausen for dirt cheap and they worked just fine.

if you are doing lines, rotors, pads, the absolute best bang for the buck is the Stoptech Stage 2

however, you need to double check what pads your car has, as there is a split between G35's in 05 as I recall

 

drilled rotors FTL!

not only can they crack under heat, but they do not disperse heat as good as slotted or even blanks..

i just ordered the STOPTECH STAGE 2 kit form importimages.. FTW! best 580 spent...

id suggest that...

SS lines are the #1 brake upgrade u can honestly do.

 

The stoptech stage II upgrade is great for the street.

If you do any competative driving then I would piece together a system so you can choose your own pads. IMO the axxis pads that came with the ST stage II kit I used to use were completely inadequate for any sort of performance use.

I have Powerslot rotors. They're just slotted, no drilling. Works good and doesn't squeak.
Got a front pair for like $250

I have been looking at DBA 5000 series. Two piece rotor... Just another option.

those are only made for brembo's, and only fronts, not rears

I got a Stoptech kit from THM, it comes with the stoptech rotors, ss lines, and hawk hps pads. Thanks for all of the info guys!
