With a bit of research I have found that my car may have this rear axle issue. I think the TSB is for 03-04 Z's, but my car is an 06. I am also lowered on GF210's. My car has 29k miles. I am wondering if this would still be covered under warranty since I am lowered, or if any of the 06 models even have this issue? What exactly causes this clicking?
I had the same issue 2 years ago and had it corrected at my local dealer. I have an 05 and they gave me no issues, plus i was running Nismo suspension. I would assume since 2005 models were not listed on the original TSB when i had mine done, you would be covered as well, but it never hurts to ask them if this is a free fix on 06 models... they have revised this TSB a few times. Here is a link to the actual fix:

My 03 Z has this problem as well. I don't imagine that after 5 years, the dealer would still fix this for free. My Z is out of warranty.
Or are other members saying the dealers fix it no matter what?

I tried to get this corrected at my dealer and they wanted to charge me 300$ to do it. I laughed at them. I told them about the TSB and they said since it's an optional TSB they would not do it for free. I think they were BS'n me cause they are tight for money.

I took mine to a local Nissan dealer and they repaired it free too... Guess they just took the grease out and re-packed different grease in it. Doesn't really do it anymore but occasionally I get a tick when switching into reverse.
If the dealer refuses to do it and they are a authorized Nissan dealer I'd call Nissan North America and tell them what dealer is refusing to do it as part of the TSB. It doesn't cost the dealership anything, Nissan pays for it I believe.

Did you bought this car used? Im not sure what model you have, but i have a Touring and they come with LSD, and as of everyone would know, with installed of LSD will create a small to large metal clicking noise. I took mine to the dealer, and they said it was normal when i first bought the car.

Hey, I agree with davidv. Same as if I was talking to someone, may not be a speech class but I expect people to talk properly. Don't give him a hard time, he said please turn them off, and I agree. Pain in the butt to read things where every word is capped.
Yes, with VDC on and the tires start to slip, you will hear a clicking. If you turn off your TCS or VDC it will stop.

Just to clarify, the clicking sound the OP and most of us are referring to has nothing to do with LSD or VDC or TCS or the tires slipping. It is the rear axle (which doesn't switch off
). It clicks loudly when you start to move forward or backward or you shift, even if the car is sitting still. It is due to a lack of lubrication in the rear axle on tons of 350's out of the factory. It is covered for free by the dealership. if they won't do it, call Nissan Consumer Affairs. My 06 was clicking very loudly and it was covered free of charge.
