Default Rear Control arm fabrication

Hey Guys,

I just got done with a set of rear control arms this past week. I rcently lowered my car with tanabe gf210 springs and liking to fabricate stuff decided to make my own control arms.

I decided to start with the rear since they are pretty simple and easy, Ill be doing the fronts next since I really dont like the design of any out there on the market (or at least the semi affordable ones!)

They turned out nice and are super easy to adjust, I also checked clearance with the straight CA throughout the suspension travel and it is more then adequate. I also supplemented them with Spicer toe bolts (same units that SPC re-tags for there kits).

Anyway its nothing special but I thought I would share:

I powdered them starlight red, turned out kinda cool since its translucent you can see the heat zones and welds.

Ill post pics of the front ones when I finish but it will probably be a little while before I get to making them, camber is in check with the factory ones but I would like to have more adjustability and also be able to dial in my caster. I also wanna give props to a friend and member here ZachHindes who helped me with these, he did most of the welding.

Very nice, I give you credit for making your own stuff. Do you have your own shop or something?

Are these lower control arms or camber arms?

Thanks for the compliments guys

They are "camber arms." I just work out of my garage, and Im an engineering student right now. Everything is TIG welded and the inner bushing is polyurethane, I used one inch tubing and 5/8th adjuster. I may make some "caster arms" for even more adjustability later as they are basically the same thing and really easy to make.

Where did you get the bushings from?

Way to go Austin! I can vouch for this guy, I have spent numerous hours in his garage. If you guys had any idea what Austin is capable of at his age, you would be VERY impressed.

He's helped me work on all three cars I have owned.

Where were you able to find the turnbuckle centers? Coleman Racing/Mcmaster?
