First Post(its about wheel hop)
Hey everyone. This is my first post and its about wheel hop. I recently purchased an 04 350(20k miles) and I absolutly love it. I plan on making this car fast along with my others. Im not new to fast cars, Ive owned a supercharged trans am, nitroused trans am, turbo trans am, turbo supra and I have a 93 RX7(fd)with an LS6 vette engine in it.
Now, Ive searched and haven't really seen a solid answer on how to eliminate wheel hop. For my trans am it was control arms and for my RX7 it was diff bushings and control arms. Does the same apply to this car? Where is a good place to look for suspension? Should I look for control arms and diff bushings as well? I like the firm but fairly quiet ride the car has now(its the daily driver) and I dont want to venture too far off from that. I appreciate the help.

if ur use to ALL that Domestic power V8s that have NO wheel hop why buy a Z?If I come off as an ******* I appologize, but why post in here if the only thing your going to contribute is useless nonsense? Im happy you don't have wheel hop..but I do. And I bought the Z because I liked the looks and I want to try something different, the more I drive the car the more I like it, is that ok with you?....anyone else on the wheelhop thing?
It’s a common topic in the drag racing forum. Hop is symptomatic of independent rear suspension. I say over and over that hop is a matter of technique not suspension deficiency.

I dont mean to argue but thats absolutely not true. The best driver in the world wouldnt make a damn bit of a difference when actually trying to spin the wheels. If your talking about launching at the drag strip then that would be correct as improper launch techniques cause all sorts or proplems. But for normal driving, and the occiasional tire spin, there is something wrong with the suspension. My RX7 used to wheel hop worse than anything ive ever driven, no matter who drove the car as soon as the tires broke loose it would hop. As soon as I replaced the diff bushings, and control arms the wheel hop went away completely. I coud light the tires up down the road until they fell off and the car didnt bounce.

^ There are way too many places to list, seriously. Just do a search in the suspension area and you'll come up with tons of hits and opinions on diferent setups and shops.

The big soft differential mounting bushings are the biggest culprit. We ripped the stock ones just trying to launch our NA 350Z. We put on solid diff bushings and that largely eliminated the wheel hop.

How about you go hop your happy *** back into your trans am. LOL
Come in here all strong when its only your first post. You got to get your feet wet before you can talk down to others bro. Replace the driver, that should do it.!!
