Default Nismo S-tune Suspension Dilema

I bought the s-tune suspension brand new, but after receiving it, I started to have buyers remorse! This kit drops the car 20mm (about 0.6 inches) and at first, when seeing this kit on pictures of other cars it didn't look too bad to me. Now, after actually putting a ruler up to my car (especially the rear) and seeing how much the car will drop, I was a little disappointed. The wheel gap in the rear is still more than i would like it to be with this suspension on. My way of trying to convince myself to just keep the kit is that it's "NISMO" and performance wise, it would probably be a great improvement over stock suspension. In the future, I would like to get some rims, which is why that wheel gap in the rear is bothering me (i just think rims look cleaner on the car when the wheel gap is minimized). Any convincing arguments to keep or to sell this kit would be greatly appreciated. Till then, it's just going to sit in the box it came in.

EDIT: nvm

it actually lowers the car .8 not .6, its still a great suspension. but if you want it lower you'd better off going with BC or stance or the like

I have the nismo and yes its kinda a subtle drop, but the handling is greatly improved (with addition of swaybars). It's good points though is that the s-tune is plug and play, already tuned for the car, and you can still align the car into factory specs without a camber kit. Smooth ride as well around town. I would have prefered the rear to be maybe 5-10mm lower, but the front is just right IMO... any lower in general and you are going to have clearance issues (especially with a front lip).

i haven't installed the suspension yet...still debating on what to do with it. I just wish the rear was a little lower (like Art Vandaleigh says).
Art, so without the sways, handling isn't improved THAT much then? I just don't have the money to buy sways right now. The nismo sway kit is like $400 dollars or something. And IF i decide to keep the s-tune suspension and buy the sways, i should do the installs at the same time right?
Anymore suggestions out there on how to get the rear a little lower without any permanent modifications?

I wouldn't mess with the suspension at all--It is what it is and was designed to be installed and used as it is w/out modification or adjustment.

Hoestly, from what I have heard the nismo suspension lowers the car as much as you can without being forced to use aftermarket camber arms to have proper alignment.

My suggestion would be to install them as is, or sell and get an adjustable setup.

I actually did drive mine with the s-tune installed (without sways) for a week. Before the sways it was nice, wouldnt say there was no improvement, because it was noticeable, especially bodyroll and less understeer... but the addition of the nismo sways enhanced those characteristics and tightened up the car more. I guess you have to ask what your plans are for the car... if you plan on hard driving or track days, get swaybars. The entire setup really is a treat on the track, but of course there are more expensive setups you can go for if you want something hardcore, or simply to drop the car more for looks. The Nismo is essentially a 60/40 street/track setup IMO. Plus its relatively hassle free (perfect stock fitment, warranty, no alignment issues).

I'd go for the stillen sways over the nismo's since the stillens are adjustable, but the nismo's are not (sway bars are more for fine tuning of a suspension setup and should give you the ability to adjust imo). Plus, I'm pretty sure 05+ sport models have same size oem swaybars and stifness as the nismo's, which were originally developed for '03-'04 models that had weaker sways.

so performance wise, i'm pretty sure i won't be disappointed with the s-tune setup...however, aesthetics wise i still need some reassurance that people won't think it looks retarded or something in the rear because the wheel gap is still there...especially when i put rims on. you guys think it'll still look alright? i value the opinions of the people on this forum. if everyone says it still looks good with rims, despite the wheel gap in the rear, then i'll be happy with installing the suspension.

well, i have the nismo suspension with Volk GTS 19x9.5 f and 19x10.5 r.

The front to me is perfect.

I didnt like the drop on the rear running 275/35/19 tires but this time around, i went with 285/35/19 and i think it looks pefect. The larger tire filled up the gap quite a bit.
Only thing is you need to do a fender mod whether shaving or rolling so you dont rub with the 285 tire.

Thumbs up Lakersfan...

I am in the same spot you are. Same wheel sizes and looking to go with the S-tune but I am thinking about buying wider rear cf fenders to match my fronts.

I don't think i'll rub off on that. Hmm...wheels are Volk SF Winnings 19/9.5 +19 and 19/10.5 + 17. 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 tire wise.

Not trying to hijack this thread but OP, I think you will really like the S-tune. I would personally go for it.
