Default Noob & lowered cars

Hi guys ,

Man , these H&R springs are killer . I didnt know it will dropped the ride this much i think easily 1.3" front and 1.1" rear... crazy , wish i'd went with s-tech

On a few ramps today i scratched the underbody no matter how sideways i try to go.

My question is , eventhough you dent/scratch the underbody. Will it get that bad until the point that the frame is affected?

Would just like to know how you guys slamm your car until touching the ground but did not experience these issues ( or at least nobody mention it before)

thanks a lot for the kind guidance and information

You gotta know where to drive. When my old car was slammed, if I see a ramp that's ridiculous I'll just go around, if that's the only way I'll eat it or find my way doing crazy angles to get through it.

but lets just say you have to go through it and did scrape your underbody.

what's the worse thing it could do to the car body/frame?

I dont think you will have much to worry about only lowered on H&R's if you go with coilovers in the future you might have something to worry about. I'm lowered on teins which is close to the same drop and only thing I have to worry about at least around here is my front bumper being scratched.

thanks for the reply bro ,

the H&R is rated to drop 1.5" all around where as the tein s-tech only drops less than an inch.

reason i'm asking because i am scraping the ramp on the car park going to work as i have no other place to part and it is always around 3/4 of the car length hence it's scraping my mid-muffler and my frame.

So nobody really cares what happens to their underbody when they lower or slam their rides?

thanks a lot again guys

As long as you don't get hung up on the bump or it's a squared edge large bump, you'll just have to eat it.

When I drive up steep driveways or over a large bumps on the road, I push a button and the car magically raises few inches, protects the bodykit. Slammed cars with bodykits, air suspension FTW.

Very unlikely you'll damage the frame of the car, the exhaust however is another story.

The lowest part of my exhaust seems to be the heat shields and flanges on the cats that meet up to the rest of the exhaust.

Other than that, i havent had any other part of the bottom scrape. My front lip is a whole different story...

I'm on Eibach Sportlines, which is a real-world drop of about 2". I haven't had any problems with scraping except for the front end once or twice. I'm very careful when I drive and take curbs at an angle/turned wheels, but it sounds like the garage you park in has such a steep angle that it's not going make a difference. In which case, your only options would be to go back to stock, an adjustable air suspension, or suck it up and scrape.
