Default Spacers Necessary? Tanabe DF-210’s and SPC Camber Kit on Coupe

Tried this question on G35driver with no luck. I'm hoping that someone here might know the answer.

Does anyone here have a G35 coupe with Tanabe DF-210 springs and an SPC front camber kit? If so, I’d like to know if you installed the spacers supplied with the kit. If not, were able to get your alignment back in spec without them?

I installed my Tanabe DF210 springs and SPC camber upper control arms a couple of weeks ago and I did not install the shims due to concerns over the problems that people have been having with lights etc. I’m thinking the shims are more for agressive drops like coilover setups, but I’m not 100% sure. Can anyone please shed some light on this for me?

Thanks,
George

I am running Sportline springs and SPC front/rear/toe. as far as I can tell the shims don't have anything to do with alignment. The purpose is to get your ABS sensor to sit properly and in the exact place it needs to be (within 1/100 of an inch, IIRC); if it's not your car will throw a code, and your dash will light up like a Christmas tree.

Thanks for the reply. There is a tapered spacer that comes with the front kit (along with the ABS brackets, etc.). It is meant to be installed behind the wheel hub, "for additional positive camber only if needed" or so I understand. Since I have not gotten an alignment yet after installing my Tanabes, I'm not sure how far out the front camber is (or if I'll even need the tapered spacer).

I guess my intention here is to save myself the time of installing the spacers and brackets if I really don’t need them. I was hoping someone here would have a similar suspension setup to shed some light for me.

I don't know offhand how the offsets on the G compare, but a Z on tanabes
and OEM 18s definitely needs spacers. The usual sizes range from 15mm front/20mm back to 25mm all around.

Sorry guys. I guess I wasn't clear. The spacers that I was referring to were the spacers that were supplied with the SPC front camber kit.
