End links are easy... especially on a lift.

I've posted about 3 times how to check wheel bearings.

You sure its not the exhaust rattling? I know it sounds silly....but when u posted pass thinks its on drivers side driver thinks pass....makes me think its in center...y pipe?

Has Anything been changed recently? new parts? maintenance performed?

Thanks Greg.

I did the simple test for the wheel bearings (jacked car up and tried to wiggle the wheel back and forth). There's no play whatsoever and the wheels turn smoothly.

I'm pretty sure the exhaust isn't rattling. If it was the y-pipe, why would it only make the noise when turning right? and get worse under acceleration?

I made an appointment at the dealership for Friday. It's times like these I'm glad I saved up money for emergency purposes and repairs.

I'm hoping it's nothing too serious. If anything had to be replaced, I'm hoping it's the suspension... It'd give me a good excuse to upgrade.

If you have the tools to jack the car up IE jack and jackstands, just pull one end of the endlink , Just one bolt and you can check both ends of it this way for binding. Its a $25 part at the dealer that is simple to replace yourself.

Do have a pic of where the endlinks are and look like or can at least tell me?

Usually, I'm pretty knowledgeable, but endlinks are something I haven't dealt with.

I don't have a pic but do you know what the sway bars look like? It's the part that connects at the very end of the sway bar. It's a rod looking thing that bolts to the sway bar and lower control arm.

If you look under the car you should be able to see it.

Its the part connected to the little red piece. 2 bolts hold it on , remove one and move it , there should be no play or binding in it. They are $25 each and very easy to replace. Rear is similer and mounted on the ends of the swaybar too.

I just stole the pic from another post of mine, i hope its the right one, all i see are red x's at work.

Ooooooo perfect.

I'll take a check and see if it's just those. Is there a chance it'd be broken like in that picture? Or can it just be cracked?

When you install those bad boys grease the up also. The hardest thing is really jacking the car up. The hardest thing for me was the fact that the nuts were so f-in hard to get off even using a impact wrench.

My car sounded horrible until I changed the end links. Its usually the first factory suspension component to go, especially on lowered vehicles.

the endlinks appear to be fine And have no bad play or anything. What should I look for if I unbolt them?

Also, when I bring it in to the dealership, are they going to wreck my wheels and lugnuts with air tools? Or can I request that they use hand tools only?

They don't need to remove your wheels to remove/install these. Its just two bolts, do it yourself.

I'm not even positive they are the problem tho.

Normally, I do everything on my car.

Worn struts bounce.
New struts are stiff.

Thanks davidv. I was kinda thinking I'm just trying to pick out every little problem now.

So there's really nothing I can do right now without buying new parts to see if anything is failing? So far, I've come to the conclusion from everyone here that it could be my endlinks. I've searched on Google, and people have complained about a metallic rubbing sound that was their sway bar bushings gone bad.

As long as the dealer won't screw my wheels or any other part, I'll be fine with taking it to them. I'd love to replace parts myself, but school started and I'd rather spend all my time doing good on my homework to transfer to a good university.

Update

Went to the dealership, and found the problem. The control arm has slipped off the bearing and is rubbing back and forth, causing the strange sound. The driver's side was completely off, and the passenger side was halfway off.

I was quoted $223 for each control arm, and advised to replace the endlinks since they're cheap and may be damaged when removing them from the old control arm.

So... Now I get to look for new control arms :/
