quick suspension questions

Default quick suspension questions

After talking with a few members on here, I heard that Tanabe springs could bottom out because of their spring rate? I was told to go with the eibach pro kit. Also can you mix chamber kits and springs, ie tanabe springs with eibach chamber kit? thanks

I dont think so due to the fact that eibach or any company for that matter makes chamber kits.

Although it is possible to use the eibach camber kit in combination with tanabe springs.

the tanabe have a fairly firm rate as far as springs go...a softer rate would bottom out the spring, not a firmer one, so not sure I understand what you heard (maybe you heard it wrong, or they explained it incorrectly?)

You can use any combo of spring and camber/toe kits

Adam I realize that you would not know the Tanabe spring rates by memory, but knowing the specs, their is a argument to be made. Even with 448/427 rates, 3/4" drop, Koni's and shorter then oem bump stops, I still didn't have enough bump travel in the front. That was a good part of the reason why I spend $950 on the shortened Truechoice shocks in the front.

Spring rates in LBS initial/final front 296/384 initial/final rear 316/421

Very wide spreads between the softer initial rates and firmer peak rates.

RSR 350Z linear springs .6”/.6”
Spring rates in LBS 345/417

Hotchkis 350Z Linear springs .6”/.8”

Tein S-tech 350Z springs .7“.6“ (fronts are slightly progressive, rears are linear)
