Default ZEAL SuperFunction A Super Sexy Time

Got my ZEAL SuperFunction A's. Just in time for Sebring on Oct 5th. Can't wait to try these out.

After examining them I can say that they are noticeably different in construction that any other coilover I have seen for the Z. The spring is not mounted to the top of the shock. It is remote mounted, and there is no rubber bushing between the shock and the mount, It has a spherical bearing. The adjustment ***** have windows so you can see what setting you are using. The rears have aluminum lower mounts, but the fronts have steel. The brake line brackets, and the ABS wheel speed sensor mounting brakets are welded on and not an afterthought or left off completely. The dust boots are also safety wired on liek they should be so no dirt actually gets in there. The shocks were dyno'd and the graphs look very nice!

Some pics.....

I am... and until it's sold I'm going to continue to enjoy it. And now I'm asking $3000 more for the car!

Coaxial rear mounts. I've said it many times, If you insist on mounting the spring on the damper, that's the proper way to do it. Single pillowball isn't enough.

Will

edit, not too familiar with the Zeal line-up, but I thought the Function-A was an all-aluminum set-up? Double adjustable? And where is the dyno plot?

ZEAL's linup is pretty confusing. ZEAL makes Function and Superfunction dampers. The Function A's may well be all aluminum. The Superfunction comes in A,B,C,D. A is 6 position one way adjustable. The B is the same single adjustable damper with 30 positions instead of 6. The C is a remote resevoir 6 position adjustable 2 way. and the D is a 30 position adjustable 2 way external resevoir. The ZEAL Superfunction uses a different valve assembly than the Function series.

Dyno plot was requested not to be posted on the interent by ZEAL. Why? I have no idea. Top secret I guess.

Well I ran into a problem today.... After installing the shocks I put my wheels on and was horrified to find the lower spring perch hits my tire. I run a 18X10 +25 with a 305/35/18 tire. The top of the spring is not mounted to the top of the shock like as you can see in the pics so the 7" long spring is 1" lower than it would normally be on my old D2's. So the spring perch now comes into contact with the tire. They sell a 6" spring and I'm going to try those. All this overnight shipping is killing me. Got to have it by Oct 5 for track day. This sucks. I hope the 6" spring fixes the issue.
