Default Question about brakes..........

hey guys, what's going on? i recently purchased a 2007 Enthusiast with only 13,000 miles. The car is in pristine condition BUT the brakes squeak everytime i press them. It only squeaks though when im going maybe 35mph or faster and then i brake. Now my question is where is a good place to go meaning suggestions such as the Nissan dealer, Midas, etc. to have them fixed? Everything on the car is stock and i won't be able to mod or upgrade so im basically looking to repair the stock size brakes. also, i live in miami. so if possible, any shops in Miami area will be appreciated. thanks guys and take care.

My brakes have squeaked in the past, and stopped. The only shop I have been to
which is worth mentioning is Japtrix in Riviera Beach. Its far, but worthwhile. Maybe
Jes-z or mrjdmz33 can recommend someone closer.

sorry, i guess i sounded confusing. what i meant was, should i go to a Nissan dealer to get my brakes done or it doesnt really matter and i could go to a franchise such as midas, firestone, etc. and get it done? thanks again and i apologize for the misunderstanding.

I could be biased...but I'd avoid all those options. (i've seen the quality employees those places employ).

just DIY...brake pads are terribly easy to swap.

or if you are unable to do this I'd find a local shop...privately owned...with a good reputation.

but that's just me.

so where should i go? the crowd i hang around are all franchise lovers, they dont like no-big-name garages so asking my friends/colleague wont do me any good and so im not sure where to go. thanks again and just for background, the Z is my first new sports car. ive always driven a beater, but i graduated in the summer and now im working in the hospital and making some cash. i decided to get the car ive wanted since it came out and thats why im kinda new to DIY's and quality no-name garages. and btw, i have ZERO experience mechanically otherwise i would change it myself. thanks again

Go to a place you mentioned, and find one that will do a free diagnostic, basically let you know if you even need any work done cause on an 07 with 13,000 I doubt your rotors need resurfacing and at most you might need new pads. But this way, you cna have them show you the pad during the diagnostic, and make the call yourself, of course they are going to say this and that to persuade you to have the work done, but make that call on your own. All you are looking for is about an 1/4in or more of even pad surface left, if for some reason it is wore down unevenly, your going to want new pads. Also lookn at the rotors and see if it has small grooves in it going in a circle..that is usually a tall tale sign your pads are out(They are grinding on the rotor). Anyways, if you go to a shop, your looking at 120$-150$labor + parts.

Anyone from Miami>? I just don't know anyone local to miami worth
telling you to check out. PM jes-z. He seems to know all of the good
local spots. Perhaps he knows someone to check out your brakes.
