Nismo S tune Suspension
Sup folks, i have a question about the nismo suspension. Ive been looking into getting this suspension once i get back to the states. From what i have read it will only drop it maybe about 1/2-3/4" and it will improve the handling . Which for me is about right, i dont care to drasticaly drop my z, for my tastes it sits just bout right as it is in stock form anyways. I do some spirited driving on trips out to cali and up in the mountains in the spring time so the handling upgrade will be appreciated.
So im just wondering whats not to like about it. It seems like everytime there is a vendor in the classifides selling the nismo kit, no one ever buys any or the thread doesnt get much traffic, posts. (Currently there is a vendor selling them for $1210 shipped). So whats the issue with it, is it not stiff enough, too much $, not enough of a drop, nismo just overrated? it just doesnt seem to be very popular, I would just like to know why? Sorry if this seems like a noob question but im not a gear head by any stretch so I'm just interested in what people have to say about it.

It's honestly a great suspension, bolt up and no suspension tuning needed. All around better than stock, equal in ride quality. As Z1 mentioned though and I can attest to this, it only drops around 20-25mm. The front height is perfect IMO, but I wished the rear could be 10-15mm lower for asthetics purposes.
I love it. The reason some don't prefer it is primarily cost. If you have back problems or are of a "certain" age, you may find them too stiff but then again, what wouldn't you? '06+ Zs have stiffer springs than earlier years but S-Tunes take them a notch further. The drop is just right for my taste (0.8" all around), doesn't require camber adjustment kits, and being a progressive setup means ride quality is great.

If you're including the S-tune swaybars in your package, body roll is reduced 30-40%. Between shocks/springs AND swaybars the Z has higher cornering potential, but still understeers at the very limit. That's a good thing, as most drivers will not spin the car at that point!

Not really sure if id go with swar bars in addition to the suspension. I heard the sways make the ride a bit harsh. But that what i have heard dont really know about this first hand. Im thinking the suspension alone would be good for me.
Sway bars really don't affect the harshness at all. You'll feel a much bigger difference in comfort with coilovers vs stock than sway bars vs. stock... not that it matters if you are looking for increased handling performance.
K so keeping on subject i may be able to get a used set from one of my buddys firends. Hes planning on taking off his nismo suspension for something that will drop his car a bit lower. has approximately 7k miles on it for around $700. Anything i should look for as far as going used? Sorry i really just dont have any clue as to what i may want to look for (if anything)when it comes to something like this used.
There was a guy on Ebay I believe out of New Jersey who was selling them new for 700. I think 700 for used set up may be a little steep.
just my .02
As for the handling, man it is better in every way and actually do not feel the car is as bouncy as before the Nismos. I went with the hotchkis bars solely due to cost but I love the new found handling. So if the cost is not a hold up. definitely get them.

I have a buddy here in Denver with some NISMO 350Z S-Tune springs/shocks that he's no longer using. He decided to go with the Koni/Eibach combo, and really takes care of his equipment. If you want a good price, PM me and I'll check what he wants for 'em.
Your car has the revised suspension, meaning you have a stiffer front bar vs 2004.5 and older cars.
Nismo S-tune sway bars stiffness vs pre 2004.5 cars
+18%/-1%
Nismo S-tune sway bar stiffness vs 2004.5+ cars
+1%/-1%
For a bar upgrade go with a adjustable front and rear setup from a brand name you trust that sell for a price point you feel is justified.
